Question audio-technica pro 25 kick mic

I picked up one of these for null from a friend who no longer uses information technology. It's pretty dilapidated and bruised and needs a new screw/nut so it volition stay where i want it to.
Has anyone used one of these? There's not much info about it on the spider web every bit it'due south conspicuously been discontinued. Establish a frequency response curve but would rather hear almost it from people. I mix alive mostly so I'yard trying to decide if it will replace my current kicking mic or if i should utilize it on bass.

I think they are pretty cool to have around. They use pretty much the same capsule as the ATM25 just a slightly unlike (less rugged) housing.

Depending on your current kicking mic it may or may not be worth switching effectually. In whatever event they are terrific mics you will find a use somewhere for it.

Thanks.
I thought it would be closely related to the current models. My electric current boot mic is the PG52 then i think I'll become straight onto the repairs on the PRO 25

took the words correct out of my mouth

it's what I use for floor tom

I apply the atm25 on kick

D2 on rack toms

I accept ane that i'll utilize on rack toms. It'due south definitely a not bad kick mic too, but I detect that I go to something else more often. The bulk of the time that I end up using it is when I need to tame a really harsh and/or bright guitar tone. It's a really great sounding mic and I would replace mine immediately if it were lost/broken.

I have two I employ both for studio and live. I really like this mic, peculiarly on drums. Its groovy on toms. Its my primary choice inside the kicking and blended with a tlm103 on the frontside it gives me what I need for a kickdrum. I accept also been using them for both bass and guitar cabinetts with good results. Wery suitable for metal guitars

pro 25

i bought one forever agone before i could afford a "real" kick mic.
i withal utilise it from time to time on toms, specially remo articulate head or clear pinstripe headed floor toms. Also sounds good on peak of large fat forest snare for motown or disco type deep snare tone. never had much luck on bass guitar cabs, but for toms or deep tuned snares (top mic) it gives a poor mans RE-20 tight response. Did ane infrequent recording of upright bass by wrapping it in small towel and shoving information technology into the lyre. perfect round bass tone for tunes where u want the upright to be total and round merely dont need much upper mid detail.
